I am a magpie: I can't resist beautiful things. I'm starting this blog to save me some money: I can't buy everything I covet, so here I will accumulate virtually, and share the my favourite things with anyone who wants to come on in and take a look!

I might also write on occasion about my own work: I
make jewellery, mostly by crocheting and knitting wire with beads, but I also dabble with silver. This is me: http://www.tilia.etsy.com/

An Etsy purchase has landed on my doormat; another occasion when just coveting wasn't enough ... And it is perfect. A ring that I can't take my eyes off, and that has received many admiring comments on its first day out. Here it is: Mod Flower Power Porcelain Ring, by Round Rabbit Jewelry (http://www.roundrabbit.etsy.com/).

The photo doesn't do justice to the craftsmanship or the sheen of the light celadon glaze. So beautiful.

Today I have learned about silver clay, at a class held at the wonderful http://whitehousearts.co.uk/ here in Cambridge. The cheerful and informative Melanie Blaikie (http://www.silverclayworkshop.co.uk/) has inspired me, and now I want to make more. At least I know what to request for Christmas ...

I've been getting a little obsessed by letterpress work: I love the clean lines and simplicity. Here are some beautiful examples.
